THD Univalve

THD 4x12 Cab

Two THD 2x12 Cabs (Vintage & Longhorn Speakers)

Two CAE (SUHR) 1x12 speaker cabs Hellatone

Rocktron Velocity 300

So My Main rig is based upon the good old wet/dry setup:

The Dry Signal is just the THD Flexi through the THD hotplate going to a THD 4x12

The Effected Signal comes from the line out of the THD hot plate and goes through the rack setup listed below or sometimes just a Yamaha Magic Stomp 2.1 for some reverb/delay (The AH Stereo Mic and Lead Patches are amazing in this regard). It is amplified via a Rocktron Velocity 300 or Crate Powerblock into a pair of CAE 1x12 cab's.

The pedalboard is before the amp.

Most gigs its usually just the the THD Flexi head and one THD 2x12 and the pedalboard. Which sounds phenomenal by itself!!

For Jazz gigs lately Ive been splitting the signal into a Gibson GA-15RV and CrateTaxi-30b. I love this combo...they compliment each other so very well.

Live Rig *Update*

Just picked up the amazing Acoustic Image corus III amp as a replacement for the goldtone!

After the first 2 Tamandua gigs which we had this insanely quick setup time..ive re-construced a hopefully more easy to setup tamandua rig. My previous setup was gtr into Volume probe into Xotic AC into Univalve. Dry signal was that into THD 2x12. Lineout went back to pedalboard into a Magicstomp into the Gibson echolpex loopers into a Velocity 300 into two Rocktron Cabs for Wet stereo loops. A Massive tagled mess to setup quickly...Both gigs loopers just werent hooked up right due to lack of time and had some wierd stereo seperation issue accordingly..yuck! So my easier setup rig is actually more complicated but requires nearly zero setup time. That is to have just about everything rackmounted and pre-wired, Just have the AC and volume probe on pedalboard and wire going to Univalve which is already rackmounted and prewired to FX and loopers...Sweet! It is a monster rack however because the rackmounted Univalve takes up 5 spaces alone. That with the loopers ,Velocity 300, Magicstomp-2, and Furman Power supply bring us to a back-breaking 12 super packed spaces. But no more setup worries..whew!!

Hmm...well I also just found a nice all in one unit from Line 6 called the m13 which has a builtin looper

Wiring

Pedalboard and rack are all wired with Evidence Audio Monorail Cable

Guitar Cables are Evidence Audio Lyric HG

Speaker Cables are Evidence Audio Siren II

The monorail cable can use solderless George L RA plugs (which I was using) but I just recently soldered them into some Switchcraft 228 RA Connectors for better reliability

DC and AC Power cables are Mogami 2528 Cable with Kobiconn Connectors

Tubes

I have a whole slew of tubes that I use, but here is usually the config.

Usually its just stock tubes for the Flexi but occasionally....

The Flexi has a pair of Tung-Sol 6550's with Mullard CV4204's in V1 and V2 with a Sylvania 12AU7A in V3. Also the JJ-77's are great!!

Different Tubes really shine in the univalve. Right now i am in Love with a a JJ12ax7 in V1 a EH 12ax7 in V2 and a RCA 6G6 Power Tube. The AC Pedal into the Roll input has an amazing tone.Mullard 12at7s are also a favorite for preamp tubes.

Recording Stuff

Live recordings are done with a Zoom H2. Im using a 16GB Flash card which allows about 8hrs of 96khz/24 bit stereo audio or 8 hrs of 48khz/24 bit 4 channel audio.

Home recordings and mixings as of lately are done on a Mac Pro 2.66ghz Tower and/or Macbook 2Ghz Core Duo 2 using a shit load of Audio Unit FX and Virtual Instrument Plugin's into Logic Pro 8, using a MOTU 828mk II interface and using a Roland VG-99 and its Midi Interface
